DIRECTIONS
1. FROM THE CITY.
STANGER ST. Head N.for 2,3kms. Left lane, glide off at ARGYLE ROAD. M17. Head up Argyle Road for 2,3kms. (Road name changes to SPRINGFIELD ROAD, same road) continue up hill until reach ESSENWOOD ROAD. Turn left and 200m. on left hand side is ESSENWOOD HOUSE No: 630. Press the bell, gates will open, drive in.
2. FROM PIETERMARITZBURG/JO’BURG ON FREEWAY N 3.
Head towards City. Sign reads Exit 3. Tollgate, Berea. Get into left hand lane and glide off. Traffic lights at top of hill about 150m. after gliding off. Carry straight across Ridge Road in left hand lane at these lights. At 2nd.. set of lights turn left into Essenwood Road. 2,4kms along Essenwood, after 6th. set of lights is Essenwood House No.630 on right hand side. Press bell, gates open.
3. FROM AIRPORT OR SOUTH COAST ON N2.
Head for Durban, City on M4 for 12kms after
leaving ( or passing) airport
Glide off at EXIT 2.
Sign reads : NORTH COAST, BEREA, BEACHES,
P’MARITZBURG
Note. Exit 2 is shortly after Exit 3, so get into left hand lane after passing
Exit 3.
Glide off left into Moore Road. Head up Moore Road for 1,8 kms. Turn
right into Manning Road at lights . Cross freeway, name changes to
Essenwood Road (same road). After 6th. Set of lights, on
right hand side is Essenwood House. No.630. Press bell, gates
open, enter.
4. FROM NORTH COAST via N2 OUTER RING ROAD.
Approaching N3 interchange keep in left hand lane and glide off left. Head for DURBAN AND CITY. Keep to left hand lane until EXIT 3. TOLLGATE, BEREA.. follow directions in 2* above.
5. FROM NORTH COAST via UMHLANGA ROCKS.
After passing swimming stadium on right hand side, get into right hand lane. At first set of lights turn right into ARGYLE ROAD. Sign reads : BEREA M 17 W. Follow instructions from 1* above.

Wegbeschreibung
The Umdlalo Lodge is easily accessible from the N2 / Toll Road. Traveling from Durban, take the N2 south bound and turn off at the Port Shepstone North / Old St Faiths off ramp. Go through the toll gate and turn left. Travel approx. 4km and at the traffic lights go straight (directly towards the sea). The lodge is sign posted on the main entrance wall and is located 200m down Rethman Drive on the left hand side. If you are traveling from the south, take the Port Shepstone North / Old St Faiths off ramp, at the top of the road turn right and follow the same directions as above.

San Lameer oder Southbroom Golf
The pleasant, scenic drive to Southbroom takes just over an hour from Durban International Airport and its freeway all the way.
Travel south from Durban along the N2 (which later becomes the R61). There is one toll plaza en-route at Port Shepstone. The village of Southbroom is at the end of the toll road, 7 kilometers after the Margate/Ramsgate off-ramp, and is served by two entrances, north and south.
At
the Southbroom north entrance, turn
left into Southbroom Avenue and
follow the signs to the clubhouse.
The Southbroom south entrance is convenient to those traveling up from the Eastern Cape. Turn right and keep right at the circle into Outlook Road, then turn left into Captain Smith's Road. The fairways will lead you to the clubhouse and parking area, past the pro shop on your left.
Both routes have directional signage to the Club and any number of friendly locals that will help you along the way should the need arise!
Allow yourself enough time to enjoy the scenic drive through the tropical village and along the main beach coastal headland. The ocean views are terrific. The Southbroom Pro Shop experience also warrants an early arrival.
There are fabulous Bed & Breakfast establishments in the village and the Southern Explorer together with the South Coast Travel Companion ensure that golfers, and their non-golfing partners, can explore the treasures of the South Coast.
| San Lameer Golf
Course San Lameer, near Southbroom, is a nature lover’s paradise. The estate is extremely conscious of protecting the environment and a walk on the golf course will bring one into contact with the dense coastal bush, shady streams and rich bird-life of the region. Designed by Peter Malkovich and Dale Hayes, thecourse was built on a flood plain and there are numerous water hazards. It is well wooded and has lush tropical vegetation and perfectly manicured greens. The greens are covered in fast and smooth 'country club' green grass. The course has provision for four different South African Courses - San Lameer golf course tee placements; allowing it to host competitions such as the SA Masters and at the same time providing for corporate days and amateur players. The 199-meter par 3 ninth hole has an elevated tee that plays to a green that is almost completely surrounded by water. The ninth is also the beginning of an almost continuous stretch of holes through to the 18th hole where water comes into play. The par-three 4th could be compared with the famous 12th at Augusta, across water to a narrow green. Location The golf course is situated on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast, the course is just 3 kilometres past Southbroom heading south on the main highway between Durban and Port Edward. Facilities

Selborne is just south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. Within an hour of landing at Durban International Airport, guests can be teeing off on the championship golf course. Travelers by car should follow the N2 South from Durban for about forty-five minutes, and take the Sezela off-ramp. Turn left and the entrance to Selborne is about four kilometers from the N2 at Pennington.

DIRECTIONS From Durban: Travel along the N3, past Pietermaritzburg and through Mooi River. You will pass the Wagendrift Dam on your left, and keep going until you reach the Estcourt North Giants Castle Central Berg Turnoff. Turn left at the glide-off, and carry on through Loskop for 28kms. Please note there are lots of cattle and animals, be careful! You will reach a crossroads, with a sign saying Central Drakensberg, turn left. Follow this road for 11kms, and Champagne Sports is situated on the left hand side. |

Special Precautions:
The weather is subject to change at short notice and hikers should be well
equipped and fill in their details in the Mountain Rescue Register.
The nearest town which has a full range of services is Bergville which is 50 kms away.
How to get there:
There are two routes from the north depending on weather conditions.
The first one is to turn off the N3 at Harrismith and take the N5 to Kestell.
2 kms down this road turn left on to the R74 to Qwa Qwa and follow the signs to
Bergville going over the Olivier`s Hoek Pass and turning right to Royal Natal
National Park at the bottom of the pass at the area tourism sign.
This route is considerably shorter than the following more conventional route
and saves an additional toll fee.
The alternative is to turn off the N3 just past Ladysmith on to the N11 and
proceed to Bergville. The reserve is well signposted from here.
From the south turn off the N3 at the Winterton/Berg Resorts off-ramp and
proceed to Bergville.
